Azkals player Curt Dizon scored the first goal in PFL

An Azkals player contributed the historic first goal in Philippines Football League in the 9th minute of the match against Stallion Laguna F.C. held at at the Binan Football Stadium last May 6.

Curt Dizon, provided the first goal for his club FC Meralco Manila. The Under 23 Philippines player’s goal was one of the 5 goals that destroyed the Stallions, which only managed to score 1 goal.

The England-born Filipino scored in his debut as an Azkals player in a friendly match against Nepal held at Doha, Qatar in 2014. The game ended 3-0 for the Philippines, and yes, he took the first goal.

Dizon started his professional football career at 19 years old in  Gimnástica Segoviana CF in Spain. In the Philippines, he first signed for Global Cebu FC before going to FC Meralco.

Two other Azkals were also in the score-sheet, the brothers James Younghusband and Phil has 2 and 1 respectively.
