Laws or rules in football are pretty simple, but a new soccer fan still gets confused. Understanding the corner is easy as 1-2-3. In less than a minute, you’ll get it right away. Unlike the dreaded offside rule.

A corner kick is the kicking of football placed in the corner of the football pitch line.

The corner kick occurs after the defending team kicks out or had the last touch of the soccerball that went out of the line (see below). The attacking team shall be awarded the corner kick.

If you watch a soccer game, you’ll notice that the defending team always kicks the ball to the opposite side or to the sidelines. Never to the line behind the goal.
